coconut chutney

1 cup

ingredients

  • grated coconut - ½ cup 

  • chana dal - ¼ tbsp

  • onion - ½ pc

  • green chili  - ½ pc

  • tamarind - ½ pc

  • rock salt (pink Himalayan) - to taste

  • oil - ½ tbsp

  • water - ½ cup

steps to do

  1. in a blender, combine freshly grated coconut, roasted chana dal, onion, green chilies, tamarind, salt, and warm water until you achieve a smooth consistency.

  2. in a pan, heat ½ tbsp of oil. add mustard seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.

  3. add dried red chili and a few curry leaves to the pan and saute until leaves turn crisp. 

  4. pour the prepared oil over the coconut chutney mixture.
