millet khichdi

millet (any millet which is available) - ½ cup
yellow moong dal - ¼ cup
oil - 1 tbsp
carrot - ½ pc
green peas - ¼ cup
mustard seeds (rai) - ½ tsp
hing (asafoetida) - ¼ tsp
turmeric powder - ½ tsp
rock salt (pink Himalayan) - to taste
water - 1 cup
capsicum - ½ pc
green beans - 2 pc
tomato - ½ pc
curry leaves - 1 sprig
cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
cabbage - ¼ cup
ginger - ½ inch
garlic - 2 cloves
red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
lemon - ½ pc
coriander leaves - 2 sprigs
steps to do
wash and soak the millet and moong dal separately.
in a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida.
add the mixed vegetables and sauté for a few minutes.
drain the soaked millet and dal, add them to the cooker and add the spices.
cook for 2 whistles or until the khichdi is cooked.
