ingredients

  • groundnut Oil - ½ tbsp

  • mustard seeds - ½ tsp

  • cumin seeds - ¼ tsp

  • urad dal - ½ tbsp

  • chana dal - ½ tbsp

  • dried red chilli - 1 pc

  • curry leaves - 1 sprig

  • onion - ½ pc

  • ginger - ½ inch

  • green chilli - 1 pc

  • rock salt - to taste

  • water - 1 cup

  • rava - ½ cup

  • lemon - ½ pc

  • coriander leaves - 1 sprig

steps to do

  1. heat up oil in a large kadai and add mustard, cumin, urad dal, chana dal, dried red chili and a few curry leaves. allow them to splutter for a few seconds

  2. add onion, ginger, chilli and salt. saute until the onions soften slightly.

  3. add water and  bring it to a boil.

  4. start adding the rawa while stirring simultaneously to prevent lumps from forming.

  5. cover and simmer for 2 minutes or until the rava absorbs all the water.

  6. add lemon juice and coriander. mix well and serve hot.
